PSP Vintage Warmer Question

i just got it and dont know how to use it… what presets would everyone use for drums/bass/synths etc ? the only one that i have found that sounds good is the Clean Guitar Preset

I never use the presets. I find that they color the sound so much that it changes the way it sounds too much for my liking. I usually just boost the drive 6-12db and barely reduce the speed and and barely increase the knee. Makes it sound pretty fat without changing the sound a lot. Your post has actually motivated me to learn a lot more about though lol. Gonna read the **** out of the manual tonight…

Ah Lovley that helped a lot cheers  yeah i really have to read up on it myself

I always use the Mix dial to add a little/or take away from what I’m using it on.

Stops it sounding too fuzzy IMO.

Depends what you want to use it on, how you want to use it. You can ramp everything up & dial in a little mix + it tames it. Try not to use it on everything though. Its very big sounding. Everyone says be selective with it. It can be a bit of a hog sometimes. The LE version is a lot lighter on CPU afaik (but never use it - dont know why :w00t: ).

I’ll usually have it on my master -or- simply smashing the utter fck out of a bass.

I agree, I should also learn how to use it better. If you find anything useful chaps, please let us know

No Presets. RTFM and Experimentation.

Yeah, this. I think the presets on VW are pointless, and I think the only reason they included them is because people expect them. And the manual isn’t very big, it is really worth reading.

It is really easy with VW to make things sound worse, there is this huge knob in the middle just begging to be turned up but you need to be very careful with it.

D. Ramirez using PSP VW2 here on a drum bus… may give you some thoughts? I suggest you watch all the master class videos on his You Tube channel, quite interesting…

He uses PSP VW2 at 4min50s
