Looking for recommendations on Psytrance sample packs, specifically ones that have bass hits labeled by key. Taking James Dymond’s advice and using individual samples rather than using a VST. Any recommendations?
One thing i do for theses types of basses is sample a bass from a vst synth.
when you sample something it locks down the phase and any other time related features of a synth patch and gives a more solid sound. it also has a different vibe when going up nd down pitches as the formant is changing too. sometimes this is desirable especially of the notes of the progression are quite close… if they are further apart you can take a few samples at different pitches.
