this time I have a question about cpu. I’ve noticed that the cpu in ableton has gone high. It’s probably because off the effects I used, right? In the break it goes high to almost 80% and then back to about 57% but I used a sample with an effect on the background, that’s why it is always so high I think. But is this too high? and what should I do then? I’ve read something about freezing tracks???
Yep. If you suddenly get crashes in Ableton you are overpowering it.
It might be wise to freeze some tracks. Or boucnce them to audio. Especially the heavier VSTi’s with some effects dropped on them.
I find its mostly synths that spike my CPU… playing more notes at the same time can add more CPU.
Abletons internal FX are really efficient so use them where you can if you are having spikes.
Top end reverbs also use a fair bit of CPU.
