I don’t know the correct terminology so I will try to explain the best I can:br

I am in session view with a track selected: This track has several devices on it, some native, some 3rd party.br

In the device view there are these little volume(i think, or maybe just output level) monitors next to each device. (They look exactly like track volume just tiny and next to each device)br

I have noticed that sometimes they are going into the red but my track volume is in the green along with my master volume… br

Should I bring down the gain on these devices and keep them in the green as well?? Or can I push these devices a bit farther as long as its not putting my track volume or master into the red? br

It means that the signal you have going into the effect is running hot. Sometimes this can lead to unwanted distortion, but sometimes it can be desirable.br

It’s best to make sure that the signal chain is clean throughout though because once you start to master the track in order to raise the volume you’ll find that you’ll be wasting valuable headroom because of it.
