I have an M-Audio Axiom 61 Pro Midi Keyboard and I’ve been thinking of picking up a Nord 2x rack. Can I hook the Nord to the midi keyboard?

yes you can via MIDI i think . see the manual of the Nord for the MIDI set up
yes, you can do it that way. i have a prophet and I run the midi right into the audio interface. Ill make this easy on ya…
Do it like that. If you are on ableton, open a midi channel. drag in the external instrument to the channel and set your routings. SUPER DUPER EASY!
and you can play all your stuff with your midi keyboard anyhow. you dont have to run it through the midi keyboard to play it with your midi keyboard.
Thanks Howie and co for the help, I’m a total n00b, as I’ve only really used soft synths. I have a Micro Korg that rarely gets used.
Anyway, could you explain what you mean in the last post there Howie. I thought you needed a keyboard in order to trigger a sound on the rack, then you could just arp it and get to work ***** with the sound.
edit: Ah, you mean once the rack is hooked to the ex sound card, the midi keyboard is synched to it? Also, are the Nord racks decent? I was thinking of getting a Wave or a Virus T1 Polar, but I’ve spotted the Nord rack and it’s only £600. I just want something hardware to add something to the software, so it doesn’t sound entirely software generated.

You are correct sir!
And yes…Nord makes amazing stuff. I think adding hardware is a great idea. I’m building my setup now.
