RE: Trance Bassline

get yaself a copy of z3ta+

its very good for trance basslines it has loads of trance patches in and you can download quite a lot of trance banks for it as well

Hi terry maybe try side chaining you kik and bass…

and try this pattern .

k—/k—/k—/k—   (kik)

–bb/–bb/–bb/–bb.   bass try playin with the note lenghths on your bass sounds and the note placements aswell

you using ableton terry?

I tend to split things into layers when going for this type of stuff…

a mid range sound to give the groove ( use the same sound and pattern you are using now but slightly hipass filtered)

a pure low end subby bass… still with a bit of muted sounding attack. using a similar pattern but with no delay… and delete any hits that are on the same notes as the kick this is quite subtle and shouldnt be too loud

you can also use a buzzier higher sound or 2 with delays and panning to give a sense of speed and width…

having all the elements separated helps with balancing the bass vs the tops.
