This is a real newbie question. I picked up a Roland SH09 recently and whilst its a nice little old school synth in its own right, the filter input makes everything sound incredible. The problem I am facing is that its only mono
If I want to record a stereo source through the filter is it good enough to duplicate the mono left channel in my DAW and pan a little left and right or do I need to be recording the same sound out of the l&r channels of the stereo source synth separately - pain in the butt, but would be worth it for at least a few sounds

once its mono it stays mono
panning a mono signal hard left and right will just sound the same.
yeah recording 2 passes is the only real way to do it.
