Just a quick question regarding the recent pre-mastering tutorial, could someone explain what was meant by ‘when recording at 24 db leave -3db headroom’?
i wasn’t sure how to tell what level im recording at. is it to do with external audio recording?
I might be being a bit slow im not sure…

when exporting at 24 bit leave -3db on your output.
make sure your master level never peaks above -3db as a rule of thumb
