Hey Sonic Academy and Crew,
Just wondering what your thoughts are on getting the Nexus and the Access Virus TI keyboard.
Wicked Reviews but is it worth the hype?
Nexus is the sh*t. I use it all the time. Can’t say about the TI though.
The nexus is a good… sure you can get it easy enough, would love the Access Virus TI keyboard but at £2k I’ll give it a miss!
uhhhhh…nexus is a rompler. and a super pricey one at that. I would skip it personally. Virus TI keyboard is a great machine, but you dont need it. At least not right now. I didnt buy my first hardware synth untill over a year of my music production. But its up to you. there is MUCH better then Nexus though. Focus on making sounds, not using samples. If you dont, you will sound like every other person that has Nexus.
im actually after buyin nexus coz ive heard its best for the trancey sounds.
should i not?
Well talking about making your own sounds, Why spend hours tweaking stuff when its right there sampled and good to go ! I get what you are saying about sounding the same but that is what seems to work ! How many times have u heard the same plucky sound in uplifting trance used by different producers , eg super 8 and tab - irifushi ! Lost stories - flight 447, the list just goes on…
Actually my question should have been does it save the hassle of layering all those pads and does Nexus sound fat with the presets !
Personally I think Nexus has the best Trance Sounds.
To Howie's point... yes a lot of people have it... but you can modify sounds 2 ur liking.
If you are making your own sounds... I like sylenth because it is easy.
Couple other good trance synths is vanguard & vstation.

Nexus has loads of presets. Most sound pretty good. Lots of great stuff there.
I like the arpeggiator best on nexus because it gives you a cool visual representation.
