Anyone know how can do a classic Ricardo Villalobos beat that he makes in his productions…
Here a link of his next release on Perlon.

Is possible make it with plug-ins or something similiar??
Thanks
He makes his beats with plugins for sure. It’s all about listening and placing carefully all elements. He’s fairly minimal with respect to hats. But there’s a lot going on percussion wise.
And he can keep that pattern interesting for 11-14 minutes
Use loads of different hits and automate the hell out of 'm. Be as creative as you can. And maybe you’ll get it

I was think he used his modular synth to make that sound… Very plastic!
Those sounds can come from loads of things, but it’s all about placing them in time and in the mix. And that’s where he’s done a good job
Part of those beats sounds like a percussive synth which can be created with REALLY TIGHT amp envelopes. Just init a synth patch, put a sawtooth or pulse wave on and crank that amp envelope down so there is no release and decay, barely any sustain and no attack.
There are certain hardware envelopes and gates out there in the modular synth world that excel at these sort of sounds.
