I generally don’t tend to comment much, only because I’m not at a level where i can really judge people. When i start getting releases then i’ll be happy to give people feedback.
do you have a soundcloud account? usually people who likes your music will leave comments . especially labels and other people. try it if not . go to garage band wich there is lots of constructive criticism
i would comment more but feel the same as roben, i dont feel like i am a good source to judge others work given the level that im at. i couldnt be brutally honest without pissing someone off so i refrain, it seems that a lot of the users tracks are evolving and getting better every couple of weeks. its kinda like a collective process
@tommy, I feel the same mate. That’s half the reason why I put this post up is because nobody really criticises tracks for fear of being rude or acused of not know what they are talking about. Me included. People might turn around and say they like it but that’s it.
If say keV, graham, chris and co listen to user tracks they are qualified to comment on how things can be improved or not because they are pro’s
you could also think of it like a movie critic. you dont know anything about actually making a film or the technology that goes into it , but you critic the final product which is only part but the most important part of it. the question is when people say be honest do they really wanna hear the truth about other peoples opinion about their tracks. ill be honest that ive listened to other members tracks and thought that they where no good or didnt have that spark. i dont think i could just come out and say that your track is no good imo, but its just my opinion, somebody else might like it. i personally would like it if someone listend to my tracks didint like them and had the balls to rip me apart. failure is a good thing. it makes us reach farther, it fuels your want to accomplish more and overcome obstacles.
