Hey guys,br
br
Im using ableton 9 and an m-audio keyrig 49 and ive recently seen youtuve videos of people using the keyboard to play out a tune with samplesthey have cut out from the track beforehand. I have also seen them play in the drums this way, this was all for hip hop tho. I have an lpd8 so im able to do the drums thT way if needed but would be handy to bave this string in my now as well.br
So im just wondering if anybody knows how this is done. I assumed they were cut and assigned to drum pads or into midi slices, but then does anyone know how to map my keyboard to play those slices or pads?br
br
Any help would be appreciated guys.br
br
Thanksbr

Not sure if i understand your question but what you would do is import a loop into live onto a new track then right click to reveal the context menu and select “slice to new midi track” You can select how you want to slice the loop as well.

Put your samples on a drum rack. hit ctrl-m … click a drum pad with a loaded sample… then hit the key on your keyboard you want to make trigger that drum. Repeat for each other pad with a new key on the key board. br
br
(unless you mean keyboard li,e… a computer keyboard for typing… in which case hit ctrl-k)br
br
ctrl-m = assign midi CC br
crtl-k - assign Key Stroke
