Shepard tone

SO IN CHRISTIAN SMITH AND JOHN SELWAYS -TOTAL DEPARTURE HE USES A SICK SHEPARD TONE I SEEN ON YOU TUBE THERE IS A TUTORIAL ON THE SHEPARD TONE ON THERE BUT IT SOUNDS NOTHING LIKE THE ONE FROM THE SONG IN TECH TIPS WOULDNT IT BE NICE TO SEE A WAY TO MAKE THE SHEPARD TONE IN A MORE CONVENTIONAL WAY.[url]Christian Smith & John Selway - Total Departure - YouTube

I agree !! BTW Big Fan of Selway and Smith here  <---------

Good tune would like to see this as well

do you all use ableton???

goto live Devices and Search for “Mallets-Shepards Vibe” and open the (Live 8 Library version) and not the (Operator Version) this is a very usable and easily changeable Shepards tone.

Logic also have one as does cubase and if i remember the name of the patch i’ll post it.

Most DAW come with huge amount of presets or loops and if you can be bothered to flick through them all you’ll probably find out that almost every sound you’ve searched the internet for is on your computer already. ok so some may not be the exact sound but they will be very close and easily workable.

i think the one in cubase is called infinite ring modulator. i am not sure but i heard you can create the Sheppard effeect with it .

I’ll have to have a look through. Cheers

you said logic has one also does someone know where to find this in logic

theres a few great ens for reaktor for this and is what they used on their track.
