Should i be worried?

hi guys
when im recording im always abit hesitant to use modulation effects like chorus phaser flangers ringmods etc etc in fear of creating mono phasing issues… should i be so worried? or just use them :frowning:

nope…

just use them mate

bryan just used a phaser on the dubstep tuts for the bass

cool, so why have i got this thing in my head that its messes with the mono?? it doesnt mess with it at all? even a phaser effect?

just check your mix in mono every so often, if important sound disappears than back of effects a bit, try and keep low frequencies in mono too, because this are most prone to phase issues

to the extent yes, and thats why the are tools to mono low frequencies in a mix,

but of course it doesn’t mean you shouldn’t apply effects to bass for example, just definitely not to fq below 120hz,

but by no means treat this number as definite, lol
