Should I Buy A Sub for Mixing?

Hey guys, I’ve currently got two HS50M’s for mixing, i love them to death but the thing is there is like almost no low end on them, 50hz+. So i was thinking of buying a sub if it would really help my mixes, the yamah hs10w is a sub made for them but it starts at 30hz, only adding 20hz and frankly i am not sure where i would put the sub other than under my desk (in college, not a lot of room).



Do you guys think I should buy this sub, or another? or just forget about it,

Headphones would be a better investment in most cases.

I’ve heard on the grapevine that the hs50’s and hs10 is a better set up than the hs80s. Don’t take my word for it though you’ll have to listen to first!



I think your neighbours would prefer headphones tbh!

What are good headphones for mixing?   Are DJ headphones acceptable, or should particular studio monitoring headphones be used?

Considered getting the sub a while back, but reckoned it would only add more boom to a less than perfect room - thats even before you start thinking (or not) about your fellow brethren.



Headphones - Cant beat them. They tell the truth :slight_smile:
