Back on track though, there are all these people on here, soundcloud, facebook etc that are getting signed. Some not so good, some only producing for a short time. Fair play to them.
Maybe I just need to work harder

I am not sure there really is an answer to that - I think its a mix of luck, talent being cheeky and chatting online to the right people
jeez it’s not about skill so much as luck and persistence.
plenty of good unsigned people out there and plenty of bad signed people.
right place, right time and some basic skills are enough to get signed. hell look at me.
