How would you go about synthesizing this bass?
You’ll know what bass im talking about.
yeah man i bought the EP Today and thats not the finished version or mastered but if you got massive i can show you how to make it but you will need to re-sample multiple times to get the sound you want
please show me!!!
SHow me to!
i know that resampling achieves this but i’m not entirely sure how!
related q: i tend to play the melody and record the different parts with that melody and layer them up, whats the benefit of just bouncing down to 1 long note?
This Guy is blowing up!
I got the EP as well. Its freaking nasty.
There was another thread about this here:

I suggest watching the Sonic Academy tutorial on Resampling…

Resampling sounds to get thick basslines like skrillex is not something you just go oH here’s a cool preset and now I just write some notes in. You need to practice it over and over again. Guys like Borgore, Excision & 16Bit have spent hundreds if not thousands of hours in the studio learning, practicing and perfecting their techniques to get certain sounds.
As phil puts it in the SA tutorial, its really trial and error. I mean use whatever synth you want but You are gunna have to have multiple goes at it no matter what. ON top of this you have to create a number of different versions of the sound so that when you play notes in a melody they will go together. Its not like come up with 1 sound and then bam draw your notes it. In fact its really the plugins & effects that really give you the sound you want. You can use massive, sylenth, dcam and still get similar results. Its doing it over and over and over again that does the trick.
i’ve been practicing this over the past few weeks. and its a pain, but its definitely the coolest thing that I have been learning lately. give it a go, you will be glad you did!
i know that but you could do it in one of two ways
a) have your melody already and want to improve the sound so layer fx etc. the sounds up
b) bounce 1 long note for each sounds and use racks or kontakt to process it
i’m just interested why so many people tend to treat 1 long note
This is what i’m talking about!
The title seems a little abrasive, but that is nothinggggggg.

ive been trying to figure out how he creates his massive sound for weeks now, nothing compares to “in for the kil” remix in my opinion. I own massive but I just cant get that sound. I would love help!
also in that resampling video, is he saying “file filter” or “auto filter” for the technique to create interesting sounds. if he was talking about a file filter, whats that? I have never heard of that.
p.s. to clarify i know hes using the auto filter at the end of the chains to isolate frequencies, but he mentions something else to create different sounds.
