Slate Digital Connect will update my ANA2 to Ultra Bundle?

Hey team.

I already got my ANA2 on my SA account for a lone time, I also have a few plugin on my Slate Digital account.

Maybe it’s because I haven’t updated my ANA in a while. One day, I noticed that Slate Digital updated VMR to 3.0 (I only update major versions). I clicked on “update all” in Slate Digital Connect. Since I had almost 30 plugins to update there, I didn’t realize it was overwriting my SA version of ANA. After that, I couldn’t use my ANA anymore. It seems that the ANA downloaded from SA doesn’t overwrite it or use my SA license?

Maybe i can update my ANA to Ultra Bundle? I heard that the Ultra Bundle can put ANA into iLok, but I’m not a fan of subscription models.

If you’ve used the Slate Digital “Connect” app to update your Slate Digital plugins then ANA 2 is selected by default and the Slate Digital version would have been installed, overwriting your previous Sonic Academy ANA 2 install and therefore asking for iLOK in order to use ANA 2.

If you don’t have an active Slate Digital subscription, you won’t be able to use the Slate Digital version.

You can simply re-download the SA version from your My Account/My Downloads/Plugins area and run the installer on top of your current Slate Digital install to overwrite again.

You might also need to re-download your ANA 2.KEYFILE in order to reactivate ANA 2 ( SA version ).

If you have any custom installation paths set for your plugins, you need to be sure that you’re overwriting the ANA 2 plugins files and re-scan your plugins inside your DAW.

Should you run into any issue reinstalling the SA version of ANA 2, you can shoot an email to customerservice@sonicacademy.com and let them know if you’re using a Mac or a PC for further assistance.

Hope this helps !

Cheers :sunglasses:

Yea I think this is the problem, and I believe SA should communicate with Slate Digital about it. Automatically updating and overwriting my SA version is not a good thing. When people have 30 plugins, choosing “update all” definitely makes sense.

We’ve partnered with Slate Digital to have them including ANA 2 as part of their “All Access” subscription, so it kind of makes sense that they include an update for their own ANA 2 version ( which is using iLOK ) in their plugins manager app “Connect”.

It’s also clearly mentioned on their website that using Slate Digital plugins and their ANA 2 version requires to use iLOK, you can easily unselect ANA 2 from their “Connect” plugins manager app to skip the update and avoid this problem.

Have you fixed the problem and reinstalled the Sonic Academy version of ANA 2 now ?

I’ll reply to your email sent to support as well to follow up on this
