Hahahaha - best post of 2012 so far

Supersaw Demo

Should be doing some beta testing in the next few weeks.

That sounds really good Phip, very modern and the filter sounds awesome. If you want a beta tester for some trancy stuff give me a shout. Chris Agnelli is probably far too busy anyways :stuck_out_tongue:

Havnt decided how big we will have the beta but ill keep you in mind for sure.

I did a lot of work on delay curves to get a lot of variation in Pluckiness… there are a few different curves to choose from… so you can get a Roland style straight decay or a virus curved decay.

Filters on that demo are the Vintage 4 pole… nice and round and harmonic… we have more plasticy ones too… and a bunch of formant filters for talky sounds.

So is your synth gonna be both PC & Mac?

Yeah PC and Mac VST & AU

Cant imagine how busy you guys are, hope you release some content before my subscription runs out :frowning: that new synth looks sweet

When are the dutch house tuts gonna be up?

Exporting them now… should be up in a couple of hours

hey guys.

bit late on the discussion but i do agree that phil and bryan need to be around a lot more

to help out with track feedback and other tips.

i also agree with jan that obviously subscribers paying money should get more help

than a non-subscriber.

i also think that there is loadsa content on here, new stuff and HTSL etc.

phil did say to me he would make a tut on multiband compression and other processing

but hasnt quite followed through. thats another good point jan made and making

promises but not delivering.

anyways, im still subscribed and plan on sticking around and hope these small things

improve coz SA has helped so much. so i look forward to the new improvements and

the new sonic synth thats on its way

Definately track feedback is very important. There is nothing worse than getting excited for some feedback on your latest track and seeing it just drift down the list. So many times that has to me. Its soul destroying. Especially when you aint had anything signed yet!

So hopefully this area does massively improve

+1

I asked for this a couple of years ago and think it is a vitally important part of the tutorial process

If this is area does improve, which it needs to, i understand it could quickly become a busy job for phil or whoever takes it on.

So maybe a good idea could be for the tutor to sate what area of a track he will be giving feedback on. For example, the intro, chorus, outro, general feel/vibe the track is giving, the level the track is at in terms on quality and what its missin/needs to be improved. That way there will be less bounce back questions to and from the pupil/tutor, thus making it a quicker and easier job for the tutor.

If that makes sense

Also on a slightly more positive note, I really like SA giving sample packs as prizes for original tracks posted by its members. A great incentive and a massive confidence boost if you win.

We have never advertised Track feedback as a feature of our site… we try to put all the info into the tutorials.

I do give feedback when users post in the subscriber section. ive done it tons of times.

Other tutorial sites charge Ā£300 for 4 weeks with one feedback session at the end… or in Berkley’s case its $1200.

To expect one to one feedback on top of 300 hours of videos for less the £100 a year is a bit much Tbh.

We have toyed with the idea of charging more for one to one feedback but it can only benefit such a small amount of users due to obvious time constraints that it just doesn’t benefit the community as a whole.

Its much more effective for us to provide as much info as possible in the Videos.

We are working on a system that should do the same or similar job as one to one feedback and enable EVERYONE to spot areas to improve on your tracks and get feedback.

I know for some of you who maybe haven’t had their particular genre covered recently can feel a bit left out in the cold… but in the last couple of months weve had, Dutch House, Trance, Tech House etc. and no doubt we will cover your genre again soon.

Ive said a few times that Sonic Can only take you so far… once you can get your tracks sounding half decent… and you understand the concepts of arranging etc. its really up to you to take your creativity to the next level… which a lot on here seem to be doing.

Ive been playing around with some live streaming tech which we will be testing out soon… maybe we could do some Q&A session if you want to get some realtime interaction with the sonic guys.

I didnt forget about it George i was just waiting for an opportunity to use it on a proper piece of a track.

Check out Tutorial 12 of Dutch House

TBH i cant fault anything with you guys phil, im sonic through and through. Have been 4 2 years come march and i, for sure, wudnt expect 1 2 1 feedback 4 the price of the current subscription. Maybe just the 1 brief comment on a each ā€œsubscribedā€ track ( up to you guys)

1 thing i would be more than happy with is payin that littl extra for a bit more in depth feedback on a track. I do understand you try your best to get everything covered in the tutorials but nothing beats that vital bit of feedback you need when you’ve gone and constructed your track all on your own. Still not quite knowin if its release material yet.

So again, if you wanna take into consideration that littl xtra 4 more in depth feedback, i’ll be the 1st to sign up to it i can assure you!

Oh and 1 more thing. ppl have complained about lack of content. TBH i cant keep up with it thers so much. Keep up the good work

The only people that complain about lack of content are people that havent had their particular genre covered. I also agree with what Phil says its like people want Phil or Bry to hold their hand and make a track for them thats gonna be a beatport no1 and that for 100 quid a year… wow!
