Just wondering
Site seems utterly dead. I’d planned on resubbing when a bit of new content had built up - but the rate that they’re going at, god knows when thats gonna happen.
Not even a Christmas / New Year howarya (or thank you) or anything from the 2 Lads.
Pity.

Yep
Thing I found interesting was the whole Dahlback thread situation.
There were around 12,000 views in the space of a wk or 10 days.
Software developers were posting here about cracks. Random people were registering just to say what they thought of the whole thing.
SA’s site / thread was linked to KVR, Gearslutz - and fk knows where else…No comment whatsoever from the lads. They should have locked it / deleted it. People are still looking @ it.
They banned Dom for less. I think its fair to say that they’ve switched off a bit. No doubt they’ll come back saying that they’ve been working on improvements for the site etc… but sure they’ve been saying that for how long now?
Best of luck to them - however, they should be a little bit more involved with the forums & there should be regular new content. Not even a bunch of tech tips for xmas. I think its a shame, cos theres less & less people posting here - just get the impression that the whole site is dying.

xmas holidays cause an obvious delay, but we will be operational again this week. so you can expect them soon
I was promised to have a discount last year to renew my Subscription but because SA went thru many changes , they never gave me any discount. I sincerely don’t know if i should renew my Subscription this year .
most of the HTSL are from gene-res that i don’t like . and the ones that i am interested are not satisfactory IMO .
some of them new Videos takes forever to be published in the SA website.and are only in Ableton. ( when i signed up 2 years ago , SA used to publish more tutorials in Cubase)
there are tons of websites that teach Ableton and Logic even for Free, why not making Tutorials in Cubase 6? or Tech Tips in Cubase?
yes i can apply many of this Techniques in Ableton but would be nice to have a tutorials once in a while in Cubase .

on another note of that, I subscribed to SA for the first time and 2 days later they put subscription on sale gutted.
Unfortunately i have to agree with you guys. There’s not been much content that has caught my eye for a while now. I’ve been a paying subscriber for over a year now and although i have picked up some useful tips from the site i feel that it has gone stale. The main criticism that i have is the lack of feedback from the guys, as whenever i post links to new tracks i would have expected that as a paying subscriber i would have gained a bit of feedback from them. I think there was one comment shortly after i joined and nothing since. I understand that they are busy doing other things but in my eyes a little more involvement is needed on a personal basis. I can only speak from my point of view but if they conversed a little more on a one to one basis it would do them wonders.
For this reason i have just signed up with a leading online music school (won’t mention any names to avoid p1ssing anyone off) which provides in depth one to one feedback on all the work i put forward, admittedly i am paying for it and it is a completely different business model compared to SA, but it is certainly worth mentioning that this is what appealed to me and from what i gather, so many other people.
Anyway i hope the lads get things up and running again because they have a great thing going on here with a decent community, just needs a bit of a kick up the arse.
Yeah, what Mozz said really. I haven’t resubbed after being a member for two years. Mainly as there’s not enough new content that’ll help me progress as a producer but also that I think the guys really don’t involve themselves in the forum enough. Particularly giving feedback to member’s tracks and helping with requests for creating synth patches and so on.
Yes, I know we do have Phil pop his head in every now and then, do a flurry of responses then disappear for what feels like months.
Guys, just spending an hour a day on here answering questions and listening to tracks will do wonders for community spirit. You could alternate days even.

We obviously try to cater for everyone here as best we can - regarding track feedback. this is actually one of the many improvements coming to the site over the next while and im sure something you will all love as we will be making the whole feedback of tracks more formal and interactive.
we try our best to keep involved in the forums and check in daily to answer questions. we will get more time to do this as we bring more content creators onboard (chris & graham being the most recent to return to the site.)
we have looked at where we are going with the site and ways to engage the more advanced user. all will become clear over the next few months as development comes to an end at our side.
In the meantime though. we will be putting out regular content and as i said before, please drop your feedback into our customer survey which will be landing soon so that we can gauge what content and features you want the most.
If you want to ask me questions or get feedback post in the subscriber forum… I have email notifications and answer the majority of Questions/feedback requests in there.
That’d mean we’d need to subscribe Phil
Seriously though, then things must have changed in the past two months since my membership ran out as that really wasn’t the case then.
Like I said, you do/did pop in every now and then but it certainly didn’t feel like you were on hand daily.
I’m not having a pop, though it may read like that. I love this place and I’m certainly where I am now as a producer in a big part because of this place. But there are definitely areas where it could be improved. And responsiveness and feedback is one of them. IMO.
Lads - If this was my site, I’d spend a lot more time that ye do, posting - being so helpful and supportive to everyone that uses the place. I see a fella from a rival firm, who is such a nice guy always chatting to people - giving tips, POV’s & having a laugh. He gets a lot of respect for it. Thats what SA doesnt do.
Its like the place is rudderless. Its dead in terms of being a community.
@Bryan, in terms of the Dahlback thread. If you are only noticing it now - point proven. It doesnt take a marketing consultant or Max Clifford to tell you that the sites image needed to be protected in terms of the subjects being discussed. I remember a thread ages back were we were discussing piracy & you warned us to be careful. You needed to be there to do it again & didnt. People commented about it on other sites. Too late now.
Anyway- Fair enough - these site “updates” take time. I personally cant wait to see them, cos its wheeled out as an excuse any time theres a discussion like this. They must be fantastic
The Subscribers forum gets an obligatory response, cos thats one of your features, but the truth is that your presence is needed all over the site.
I believe that you miss so many chances to convert queries into cash, cos theres no response. Theres plenty of discussions in the forums that go nowhere cos they do not have someone with the knowledge or experience to chime in & give an instruction or technique. People stop asking, people stop posting - community dies.
Should everyone have to pay for your time? If they do, whats the reason why they should - no-one knows (apart from watching the tut’s what you are like).
If you belive that only “subscribers” in the paid forum deserve that honour - then you would want to have a very serious look at yourselves in the mirror & ask if that elitism is hurting your business.
Be honest with yourselves, cos we are being honest.
To use one of your own words - Is this place Awesome? No, its not. It could be if you had more of a presence.
I hope you follow through on what you promised. It’ll be obvious as it is now if you dont. That would be cringeworthy.
Everyone here is saying the same thing. Theres a free bit of analysis
I have to agree with a lot of what has been said here. My user experience over the last few months has been less than satisfactory. Although 5 hours of vids went up before Xmas, it feels like there have been a lot of weeks with nothing going up.
I also think you should be more active on the forum, partially the tunes section - I really think you should be involved there. If you only want to comment on subscribers, I can understand that. I have always been shocked that you don’t comment on at least a few a week.
These “feedback” posts are usually best kept clear of, but I think this one has had a lot of very valid points so I think it is a bit of a shame the response has been so defensive rather than letting us know that we are being heard.
This site would have to get considerable worse for me to leave, but I really hope it improves.
Tbh its far easier to sit back and critisize, and its human nature to complain. Even if SA was a site that just made hit records for you people would still complain its just what human beings do.
As for dom being banned, I think that was the right thing to do, I mean what did he add or do? Nothing. He was killing this community faster than any lack of content. Also why should a non subscriber get anywhere near as much feedback and interaction as someone who pays money to SA? Thats just silly and unworkable IMO, nothing in life is free.
Also I feel people complaining about the actuall content itself are just unhappy that its not on a style that they personally want which is understandable but I guess its just the way it goes for everyone. I mean you can search this forum for posts I made years ago asking for Chris Agnelli to do a trance tutorial.
The only thing I will say that SA shouldnt do and something that I think really annoys me and other subscribera is when Phil or Bry says something but doesnt follow up on it. For example, releasing those 2 tutorials before christmas was great. Phil shoulda said there you go 5 hours of content to keep ya busy, have a wonderfull christmas and a happy new year. That would have been fine but Phil went on to say, the rest of the dutch house will be up before christmas and it wasnt. Then he said its been delayed it will be up later this week and it wasnt, now he said it will be up sunday/monday and its still not up. This is really something you shouldnt do as when you make promises that you cant keep people get pissed off.
But it has been the holidays, SA say they are working on lotsa new stuff and I guess ots just a case of wait and see. On a final note I also agree that posting something like Hpy New Year or Merry Christmas doesnt take a lot and will make everyone feel a bit better
I am aware i havnt been around here as much as say 3 or 4 months ago… Ive been working on a Synth Plugin and it basically took a lot more of my time than id planned for.
The bulk of the work is done so ill be about much more.
Bry has been working on all the new site updates that will be rolling out this year which should benefit the community massively
so we have been a bit distracted but for good reason.
I guess we got the balance a bit wrong and will try to improve.
We love how passionate you are about the community and this type of discussion only helps us improve things.
How are the supersaws on it Phil
Supersaws are amazing… its a mixture of multi voice analog and some huge sample based megasaws.
