Yeah… Discount Code in the Post! :)
lol im not joking either… point is, if i can get these videos elsewhere on the internet, then why am i subscribing to SA?
because your subscription fee allows them to run this awesome website, and tocarry on doing the tutorials and at a rate that we all benefit from.

It’s the same with paying for muisc, yeah you can download them for free, but if you want the artists toc arry on making music you want it’s prudent to help them out financially.
Amen brother!!

Plus you don’t get to moan that there aren’t enough House or Trance tutorials, and that we really need a How to Sound like ‘Progressive-Minimal-deep-tech-Trance’ Tut.
HOUSEJAK (27/07/2010)
Do we get a free months subscription due to this… ;)
not really haha i’ve been reporting links from torrents, youtube and rapidshare for months. it should be upto you as users to do this anyway, you pay for this site so why should others get it for free!!!.

sonic academy could never keep up with this on there own.

I agree, SA is an awesome website, the videos are fantastic and the community that has been built up is also great! Im not disputing the fact BUT if i can get the videos elsewhere what keeps me paying for the subscription… what additional benefit do i get for being a subscriber?

I’m not going to get started on the whole “downloading music” topic but my view is, if its there, people will take it… You can’t blame people for taking music, videos, games or even applications… if they see an opportunity to benefit, they will and people will follow. Thats all im saying - regardless of wether its right or wrong.
well you can kinda blame people for taking it hahaha i wouldn’t take someones wallet if it was sitting on the table in front of me but i never used to think twice before hitting the torrent sites, at the end of the day its still theft.

Annual subscribers will be getting sample packs and discounts very shortly - which will be of additional benefit to subscribers.

but as with anything really in todays age - it can be illegally downloaded.

we can’t really put a stop to that, and its just something we have to deal with, - we hope that our users will continue to support us by purchasing subscriptions from us.

if everyone stopped buying from us we would have to shut up shop which would be of no benefit to anyone.

our focus is on the people who want to support us instead of trying to convert the people who never will - these people will always download illegal software and theres nothing we can do about it.

so i guess a big thank you to everyone here to supports us and enjoys what we do!
Thanks Bry, thats all i needed to hear… The benefits of purchasing at SA which is what you have presented and works.

I wasn’t trying to slate SA at all, the work that they do is fabulous! How are these people getting hold of the video files then, are they free to download to yearly subscribers or something? If that is the case, then perhaps you should put a stop to that then… Just a thought…

Yeah it will be a subscriber posting up the free video’s more then likey! They are not up for download but it is easy to download them depending on how your pc/laptop is set up, as every time I watch one on my laptop it asks if I want to download it or not same goes for youtube video’s!

And by the way it isn’t me posting them…lol:cool:

Hmm, bit crappy that is!

Have you ever thought of speaking to a programmer to see if he can create some coding so that you can only view the videos from the domain sonicacademy.com ? That might be worth looking into… Meaning, even if someone did download it and either tried watching it or uploading to somewhere else, it wouldn’t work?
roben (27/07/2010)
BOYCOTT YOUTUBE!!!
Yeah never any porn on it anyway :stuck_out_tongue:

Hello,(noobie here,) I actually came to your site after coming across one of those Youpube uploads-one thing is the quality isn’t so hot on there, and you don’t have access to samples/resources.This is why I’ve subscribed here,it’s like watching a bluray film as opposed to some camxvid thing from a carboot!

Still it’s free advertising!

Good point black dog!
