Cubase 13 has arrived, so who better to take a first look than Protoculture!
In this quick video, Nate checks out the new look interface some new plugins and updated features. As Nate explains, this is perhaps more of a 12.5 update but if you’re an exisiting Cubase user there’s still plenty to get excited about!
We’ll certainly be taking a more in-depth look at what’s new soon, along with a new updated Beginner’s Guide for those of you looking to start using this classic DAW.
In the meantime check it out!
Hi Nate! I love this DAW I have version 8.5 ( And I started with version 6 ) and it works fine on my CPU 5900x but for years I only had a Ryzen 2600x and version 8.5 used too much CPU resources for some projects. So I ask myself this question: will version 13 with all its new functions and plugins run correctly on a Ryzen 5900x?
Hey Fabrice. I don’t think you’ll have any issues with 13 on a 5900. I’m still using a 5950 with no issues at all. The biggest thing to remember is they’ve dropped most support for VST2 and anything 32bit. Since you’re updating freom 8.5 there will be a ton of changes… but totally worth it, especially for the overhauled liscensing and some of the tweaks to the engine in 13.
Thanks Nate, I spent the weekend reading about the new features and watching videos on the new Cubase 13 and it’s really good. I’ll probably give it a try and if it goes well on the 5900x I’ll upgrade for only 199 € and I’ll be able to make Progresive Psytrance tracks because Cubase is in my eyes much better than Ableton for this style of music.
I buy Cubase 13 Pro today for $100 ( an update of 8.5) Yessssss !
