We have a very excited Chris Agnelli here today as Apple have just released their latest and greatest update to Logic Pro X.
Let’s have a look at what all the fuss is about!
New Features include:
-
Live Loops - Loops, samples, and recordings can be organised into a grid, where you can perform and capture different arrangement ideas to the timeline. Also Remix FX works with Live Loops giving you effects like Bitcrusher, Filter, Gater, and Repeater that can be performed in real time over individual tracks or the entire mix. These along with the free Logic Remote app, allows you to pair your iPhone or iPad with your Mac to provide Multi-Touch control.
-
Sampler and Quick Sampler - The EXS24 plug-in has had a revamp with an all-new design and expanded controls, while maintaining full backwards compatibility. Producers can use Sampler to create and edit multi-sampled instruments, using drag-and-drop. Quick Sampler is a fast way to turn any sound into a playable instrument. With just a few clicks, an imported sample can be edited, looped, and played across a keyboard controller, with access to creative controls.
-
Step Sequencer - With this new editor in Logic you can easily make programmed beats, bass lines, and melodic parts.
-
Drum Synth - You now have a huge collection of kick drums, snares, toms, and percussion sounds generated entirely by synthesis. With dedicated sound-shaping controls Drum Synth sounds can be used in the Drum Machine Designer, and then blended with samples for even more sound design.
-
Drum Machine Designer - A new tool for creating electronic drum kits in Logic where you can integrate the new sampling and beat-programming workflows. Once created they can be played in real time, or programmed with Step Sequencer.
-
Logic Remote - This free companion app allows users to pair an iPhone or iPad with their Mac to control and perform Logic features and instruments using Multi-Touch.
In this First Look we’re just scratching the surface and we’ll no doubt be delving into more with up and coming tutorials and Tech Tips.
Exciting times indeed for all Logic Pro users out there!
