SOOO has anyone else started the xmas brake?

What u all up to?

No :frowning:

Actually doing a couple of days voluteering in a Crisis centre in London - xmas spending with friends then I have my son for a week or so

So pretty busy weather permitting

I’m off & just enjoying hanging about. Having lots of sport with my Son.

Weather is too bad to be doing anything. It was -15 last night. Place is like fkn Siberia.

All those last minute presents that I was going to get… I think people will be getting IOU’s.

That’s really really cool slender man !!

Yes, Slender, very cool. I have a friend that is doing the same and between the two of you it is making me think that maybe just giving money isn’t enough. Especially with it being so cold.

yeah your a good man for doin that slender, me, I’d rather be in the studio

Well, I have just finished a report for my day job on how the spending cuts will effect housing and homelessness in the SE and every frontline homeless charity (ie shelters, drop in centres, food providers etc etc) are concerned about funding next year, the likes off Shelter. Crisis and my own should be fine but its the little ones no one hears about that could be in severe hardship, so IMO I think if all one can do is give money then do.

Voluteering is not for everyone, especially in a shelter as you sometimes just can’t help some people due to addiction, mental health or simply the system is stacked against them - so its not always rewarding, but if i can just get one person off the street permantly or at least give someone real hope then its all worth it

I do volunteering, I do agree it’s not always rewarding, but it is nice helping to make a difference in someones life. You can’t make a difference for everyone, but there are those that want to be helped, and it’s those lives who make it all worth it.

Damn supporting people they think they’re on it but they truly have no idea what its like to be in the thick of it, i had to present a complete picture from start to finish of one of the projects i was working on … in the area this project was in was in real need of the funding and they just shut it down causing a well known charity to loose over half a million in raised funds !!

Cnuts:)

Well I think we both know things are going to be incredibly difficult for the most vulnerable in the next few years

But on a good note at least the bankers will be getting their end of year bonus for such a fine job they have been doing
