Hi bought a Adam A3X speakers and they sound amazin’. but i think needed a sub. what u think? and what u suggest?
have a Motu UltraLite Mk3 soundcard.

I’m jealous–I checked out the bigger Adam A5x and they were outstanding.
I think adding sub isn’t exactly the same thing as getting more clear bass. You’ll basically get great highs and rumbly lows, but miss some of the stuff in between.
Having said that, it really depends on the speakers and the cross-over. For the price of the sub woofer you might consider some great cans. In another post under “music tech” forum, Howie mentioned using a headphone amp with really good, high impedance headphones and I think that’s actually a really good idea.

I have the A7 and I love them, although they took a while to get used to how much high end there is. At first my mixes were sounding really dull on other systems until I understood where the highs need to be on the Adams to be good everywhere else.
I have a sub, but I don’t use it. I think unless you are going to add acoustic treatment to your room a sub isn’t a good idea.
