what you guys got yours set to on you sound cards…?

also whats the benefits/negatives of different settings… for example ive always had mine set at 44.1… but just realised i can set it all the way upto 192…  why wouldnt i have had it that hi before? what am i missing?

is it gonna take alotof processin pwer wen using cubase now or take up alot of memory on my hard drives when i save a project at 192 etc…?

just looked on cubase… only allows upto 96 so ill use that i spose… whats the downside to this?

hmm ok thanks phil. wouldnt we get a better quality of sound using a higher sample rate>?

The majority of drum samples, loops?, synths etc all output @ 44.1 so if you used 96 or whatever you’d just be up converting your samples. Then you would eventually need to bounce back to 44.1 for you output format.



Unless you are doing movie soundtrack stuff or have a 12 core mac I don’t think it’s worth the CPU cycles yet.
