This may seem like a complete noob of a question but i just never got a good answer. Audio interfaces are quite expensive and i understand all the slots on them but my question is will getting an audio interface for my laptop/desktop help with the latency in my DAW? Like will it help get rid of the crackle and pop sounds?br

Thanks
Yeah most audio interfaces will give take all the audio routing and processing load off your CPU. br

CPU still has to do all the actual dsp of the plugins etc but the interface handles bussing the audio around and asio drivers talk to your computer at a lower level so bypasses the OS - CPU - OS - interface round trip that happens with windows audio drivers.br

Mac OS built in drivers are actually very good so you won’t notice as big a jump if you are mac based but it will still improve.br
