Hi guys,br
br
New here and wanting to get myself equipped with a basic setup.br
br
I’m planning on purchasing a set of KRK Rokit RP5’s and an M-Audio Oxygen 49 keyboard to get me started, but I’m stuck on which soundcard…br
br
Ideally, I’d like to get something for £100 or less (if possible). I just need something basic but with good sound quality. I won’t be recording in or connecting any MIDI instruments up to it.br
br
I have a Macbook Pro with Firefire connection, if that’s better than USB.br
br
Any suggestions?br

Apogee Duet do nice sound cards-you might be able to get a 2nd hand one for £100.
I had the Apogee one, with almost the same setup. It worked out great.br
But i need more in / outs so i just bought me RME Babyface wich i think is a superb soundcard. But really recommend Apogee or RME if u have a mac.

yeah, Its definable worth investing in a good soundcard, It can really make a diffrence!
The Apogee seems to be one everyone is recommending, a bit out of my price range at the moment though.br

Picked up a Focusrite Scarlette 2i2 for a 100 notes
Good choice mate, still a great card. The apogee is lovely but it’s very hard to justify the price for so few ins/outs.
I just read this and was going to suggest Focusrite. They have quality interfaces/soundcards for a reasonable price. Their Scarlett series looks to be the beginner/mid-range option; perfect for most people who browse this site!br
Heck, I have the Scarlett 8i6 and have loved it!
Happy to hear that you liked it! Havent tried the Focusrite soundcards but they do offer good quality for the money from what i have read.
