Sounddesign Tutorials

Hi Guys,

I’m currently working on the How To Make Trance course, which is really great, but I think there is one point I have to criticize:

For almost every now part of the song (stabs, pads etc.) all the sounds are sampled from Nexus. I neither own that thing nor do I plan to buy it, I’d much rather learn how to create those songs with a good softsynth. I guess Ableton Suite already has something for that (Analag, Operator, don’t know about the other synths).

Even if you use another commercial softsynth like Sylenth: Please don’t only take a present and make minor changes, but show us how to create a fitting sound from the beginning

Again, this is something I’ve been asking for for a while now. Please SA! Pretty please!!

Hey guys… Sound design is all about turning knobs and learning what everything does. A series of videos isn’t really gonna teach you a whole lot. We would all agree that Phil is great at making sounds, right? No one taught him. He has been turning knobs for 20 years. Unfortunately, there is no shortcut to get that good.
