As stated in the subject window!!!
I am a House and Techno producer who occasionally dabbles in a little bit of Electro.
Anyone fancy pitching the ANA to me???
Its a synth, just like any other its all in how you program it, most synths and can do most genres just fine, especially genres that are so close like house, electro house, trance, techno, etc. Usually the only genre’s that are different are more ambient/drone ones since they like wierd long envelopes and other modulations that might not usually be included
I do like ana though, when they first put out the videos I knew I wanted it mainly because of the noise/attack sections that let you immediately be able to get some different stuff without having to go through layering stuff up. Plus the filters sound nice which never hurts

Fair point.
I assume it will become a major player in the videos here??
Just seems a little like a catch 22 ie… to get the most out of the videos the chances are I am gonna need it.
To be perfectly honest I am very surprised at myself for even debating spending the 30quid considering how much I have spent on my equipment/software to date.
@ Phil and Brian… will you guys be doing in depth synthesis videos with the ANA? (if that was on the cards it would be a bargain)
Well it isnt a catch 22, i know people dont like to hear this but Sonic Academy is a business. There aim is to makem money at the end of the day, they are not our friends or buddies we hang with, they provide a service and we pay for that service.
Now for many years SA have been using Sylenth and i dont think they have really been getting money from Lennard and why should they. I think its a smart thing to do and added on top of that is the fact that this synth doesnt cost millions and its a great little synth that can do pretty much anything sylenth can.
When you have boaght it as a subscriber you at least know everything they do in the vids you can do too on the ANA and i think it would be silly for SA to use any other synth tbh
Well it kind of is a catch 22 if they do away with sylenth and only use the ANA (for me personally anyway as I already own sylenth and this is one of the main reasons I subscribed because I have only a basic knowledge of the synth and it was pretty obvious that sylenth was the back bone of the tuts)
Obviously all those videos involving sylenth don’t just vanish and I can still reference them as long as I am subscribed, but if I don’t buy this synth my Sonic Academy synthesis learning curve stops here.
To be clearer about what I mean ill spell it out …are Phil and Brian gonna take me by the hand and walk me through this synth from baby steps rite up to man steps and if so this would be a sound investment.
As the synth was designed by the Sonic Academy lads im a little afraid that I am just gonna be told to load “such and such a preset, and thats our bass, now load this preset and this is our stabs, ect…”
We always start with an initialized preset… even if its not what you normally do. we are about education that is always our main focus.
we made ANA for one reason… to give us a better, cheaper synth for all of us to use in our tutorials.
we are and will continue to be about showing you guys HOW and WHY to do stuff.
If we could have got a better deal on sylenth for our users we would have but Lenner just wouldn’t play ball… he didn’t even want to look at ball so we made a ball all of our own. a cheaper and better ball.
Its not perfect…yet, but i don’t know too many synths that are after the first two weeks. We are 100% committed to make ANA the best cheapest main synth ever! bar none. Bazinga!
It’s 30 quid mate ??? ur getting a years subscription and a quality synth for what u paid for sylenth or any other synth on there own ! To me that’s a bargin!

Well then, that’s enough for me.
I can understand if people think im being a bit of a tight *** here but things are much different these days, if it was a year ago id have bought one for myself, one for the missus, I dont have a cat but I would have bought a cat just so I can get him one as well.
But the Irish minimum wage don’t stretch very far these days when you’re trying to run a home and a car for 2.
no joke, but i actually think ANA is better than sylenth!
why do i think this??
- more variety in the oscillators eg buzz, bells, talk-saws
- advanced noise is just the best thing i’ve seen on a synth so far! talk about beefing out sounds to the max :w00t:
- attack oscillator… another great feature on a synth. really good for bass too
not to mention these 2 extra features have different versions like the jumbo jet sound, all the megasaws frain voices etc ect including the differents sounds for the attack oscillator
i cant actually wait til new tuts come out and we get to see it in full flow
i havnt even used sylenth since it came out :hehe:

Well if music meant as much to you as it does to some of us then you’d get rid of the car and take the bus
nice synth well done

Hey guys,
I came across ANA by incident, while looking (since years) for Sylenth to go 64-bit. Because this is obviously not (or never?) happening, I think ANA is a brilliant way of providing an affordable synth with great sounds and flexibility. Furthermore, the pace of upgrades being posted clearly shows that SA is dedicated to their offering.
So far, during the evaluation process, I only had one crash while scrolling through presets in Logic Pro 64. The rest is simply fine and how it should be.
For sure, I will buy the full version very soon - and look forward to making music with this nice synth.
Cheers
Tom
