Sounforge Audio Studio

Anyone using this? How does it compare to older versions of Soundforge, and the current pro version of Soundforge - anything major missing from Audio Studio?

I’ve been using Audacity but I just can’t get used to it, my work flow in Soundforge was reallyquick, and for £40 pounds I like the look of this cut down version of Soundforge.

anyone got any experience? anyone got any reasons why i should stay clear?

any advice gratefully accepted.

you can compare the two here

this is what you’ll miss out on, so if you don’t need any of it go for the cheap one, it will still be a great audio editor

cheers john, i did check the comparison chart, but I just wondered if anyone knows of anything essential int hat list I’d be missing out on.

I can’t think of anything on that list that I need, and I love the editing aspect of Soundforge - so much better then Audacity - but then obviously i’m used to it.

I may just go for it, and keep Audacity installed as a fall back if I realise something drastic is missing.

there is quite a bit in there you’ll miss if you are using it for mastering, but if its just for wav editing i can’t see anything on that list that you would miss

Words can’t describe how much I hate Audacity, the amount of mixes i’ve lost due to unexplained ‘errors’. Soundforge is awesome (as you probably already know).

Sorry didn’t answer your question there, just wanted to voice my thoughts heh

I do most of my “mastering” in my mixdown within reaper.

I literally use soudforge for hard limiting and volume adjusts, and fine point wav editing.

I’ll grab it tonight and feed back what it’s like.

yeah I have to say it’s just not clicked with me, been using it for a good month or so, and it just isn’t doing ti for me.

I used SF for 5 years before that so had it down to a T.

I’m gonna grab Audio Studio tonight and see what it’s like.

you’ll probably be given some kind of great offer to upgrade down the road at some point from sony anyway, so if you miss out to much just upgrade

its a shame they don’t do DSP-Quattro for pc they have a great offer at the moment

WOW! Just bought this, it’s like using Soundforge 10 interface etc… is identical - in fact I can see absolutely no difference apart form the mastering stuff that was listed.

So a lot of the high end mastering stuff is missing but nothing that I would use anyway… well worth the £40.

I’m utterly gobsmacked.
