Splitting drums into multiple devices

so, focusing on Live, what is the point of putting your drums onto multiple tracks? I have seen several people do something where like the kicks and snares are on one track, hats and cymbals on another, and maybe percussion on another, or lots of other combinations. What benefit do you get form that?br

Just easier to process, EQ them as similar groups

Main reason would probably be you can process each similar groups of sounds all in the same way, at the same time, by adding processing to the single group channel.br

So for example, if would be good to process hats all together, as they have a similar frequency range and chances are, will benefit from the same kind of EQ, compression etc.
