I gather that most of you here are in Europe somewhere (so you might not have immediate access to this story on your news reels), but I just wanted to let everyone know that a Starbucks in Austin Texas fired an employee who was a dwarf because she asked for a step-stool for taking orders at the counter. Their reasoning for firing her was that she was a danger to employees and customers alike and had to be let go…
And…
discuss.

Sorry - Had to have a little laugh at that.
I don’t know if it just me but i always heard weird **** from Texas. they bunch of Weirdos lol .
i wouldn’t mind helping that little fella out. its not his fault that he small .
people can be stupid sometimes .
You aren’t kidding Ali! I have stories that I don’t really want to mention in public, but yes, there are a bunch of psychopaths in Texas…
I did chuckle a bit, but it’s just crazy how companies are more concerned with the POTENTIAL for a lawsuit than they are the actual act of maybe helping this person feel NORMAL and ACCEPTED…
People slip and fall every day, people get hit by Cars! And yes, there is that one possibility that you MIGHT in your lifetime be that one person who trips over a dwarf in a starbucks and needs brief hospitalization! But for fvck’s sake man, can’t we get over suing others over a splinter? Drives me nuts…

Some people mate, desperately need to be sterilized.
Pay E$£1000 to anyone who is stupid enough to apply to the ad.
Unfortunately he had his shortcomings
Fck Starbucks - if I want a coffee out I will always go to a small privately owned cafe and have one and support a local business

110% Totally.
Those chains are just as bad as McDonalds - Subway - Burger King - etc…
Would much rather go into an Italian Cafe where they are dog ignorant to you
Seriously
Oh yes, he was really caught short by that one!
Dwarves are banned from joining nudist colonies, they’re always sticking their nose into other people’s affairs.

yeah its definitely not just you. there is a reason why there are more executions in texas than any other state. also they have no qualms with frying retarded people why would you think they would have a problem with firing a midget… just sayin.

yeahh i totally agree with u . most companies would try to avoid lawsuit . but in this case they shouldn’t had hired that little man in the first place . since they couldn’t accommodate his needs.

Don’t you guys in the US have laws against discrimination in the workplace or is it different from state to state
Hah!

If they didnt then Jamie would be pretty screwed!

It’s a bit of both. There are federal laws and then each state has their own as well.
For Instance:
In California an employer can’t ask you if you’ve been convicted of a felony.
In Delaware they can.
NONE of the states can discriminate against sex or race or religion.
I can’t say much about Texas cause I have never been there…
But I know they have some DUMB A$$ laws.
Such as: One must acknowledge a supreme being before being able to hold public office.
You can find other texas gems at the link below:

Yah but the pope doesnt exactly make financial/political decisions for most of the free world.
So I’m not really worried about him as much as I am with George Bush 2.0 coming out of texas again.
The worst quote EVER from Bush was when asked about WHY he invaded Iraq:
“God Told me I had to do it.”
I seriously think any president that says some **** like that should be impeached immediately.
