HI SONIC FAMILY,
in the last two days im trying to produce deep house and i wanna know how they make this kind of strings?
example: the strings starting at 40 seconds
Quentin Harris ft. Margaret Grace - My joy (Harry Choo Choo Romero Vocal) - YouTube
i try a lot of synth… sylenth… korg m1… etc…
but my strings always sounding cheap…
how they make those kind of strings? is this a one note string or a chord…
and which vst is the best for it?
please help me…
thx
its defo a live string sound.
any sampled based synth will get you close.
Nexus
Korg M1
Alchemy
all have a decent string.
sometimes i use octaves but normally its just a single note.
a bit of slow heavy compression will keep the sound even.
thx man!
Yeh, definitely an ‘old school’ workstation string… M1 is a good shout, avoid analog synths, they are only good for ‘solina’ style strings really. So long as it’s a sampled string you should be cool in the upper octaves.
Looking to purchase the KorgM1 VST that’s used in the 90s House Tutorial. Anyone know where to buy/download?

:hehe:
You know what, contradictory to what I mentioned earlier I checked out the freebies mentioned here - http://forums.sonicacademy.com/Topic74920-8-1.aspx and the string machines / solina string section sounds good in the higher octaves for deep house. See what you think…
