Sub-Bass?

Hey everyone, Just wondering what are some good ways to make sub-bass, I dont even know if that’s really what it’s called.

I want to have a low bass sound to match up with the odd bass kick, probably the main ones of each bar or after a drop to kind of give it that rumble feeling that you more so ‘feel’ when listening to songs.

I find a lot of rap songs have it, like the cool kids, or even in the beginning of borgore’s song ice cream.

I’m not interested in the dubstep or the wobbles or anything, just the intro when the drums come in, that really low bass, Love it.

If thats not what sub-bass is then what is sub-bass? haha.

Ahh that would be it!

Thanks Jamie.

Any idea on how I can make the rumble last longer?

I know if you decrease the threshold as it says in the video it makes it a bit longer but it’s still not as long as i’d like it to be.

If they use a gate, you could always increase the “hold” function on the gate, and perhaps even the release for a more “fade out” style sound.

Also, when I solo the track that I make the sub-bass on I can hear clipping each time it’s triggered, any ideas on how I can remove that?

Clipping or a click? Increase your attack on the gate. Might help to do the same on the release.
