September 16th has never meant much, other than being the anniversary of the death of Elvis Presley. A year has passed really quickly and it wasn’t a date I had consigned to my memory, but this year, 16th September was going to turn out to be a very important day.
It was a year since I had signed up for my year’s membership to Sonic Academy. I wasn’t greeted by a polite email from SA towers, just a screen off death begging that I “PAY MORE NOW” after being refused entry to the Progressive House tutorial I had planned for that day.
So I proceeded to complete the various screens wanting my credit card details, finally the Verified by Visa Screen, I entered my password. Password Accepted .Transaction declined. I tried again. Same result. I tried with my charge card. Same result.
I called my bank, they can see everything in their records, my bank has passed the payment, Visa have verified the payment but the credit card handling company employed by SA do not want to take the money.
The message on the screen tells me to contact the retailer.
So I write to SA, they don’t seem bothered that a paying customer is being inconvenienced by their credit card handling company.
I write again, the person at SA promises he will send it to the accounts department. I offered to pay by PayPal, I could also pay by bank transfer, but really SA should be investigating why their card handler is declining the money of paying customers and said customers being inconvenienced.
Result. Computer says no.
So 16th September will no longer be the date I remember for the death of Elvis Presley. It will be the date I became destined to be a non member of Sonic Academy, not by choice however.
If someone could load the Progressive House Tutorial onto YouTube, from lesson 18 onwards I would be very grateful!!!
I have been waiting 5 days to renew my membership now.
Whats happening ???
sorry
i have been off on leave since last week, this should have been picked up by customer service if you have sent them a mail.
where are you based?
Thanks, we now have a possible solution, I am based in Argentina
Trying the solution later today
My problem has now been resolved. This is something that is useful to know.
If you are a UK credit card holder and you are not in the UK, the credit card handler’s computer assumes that the card is stolen. Even though you go through the Verified by Visa system and give a password. Oh well you live and learn. My friend in the UK now has my credit card details as I needed him to make the transaction.
He’s probably shopping on line as I post !
Thanks for resolving the problem

That is interesting, I suppose it’sbetter to be safe than sorry but the handlers could have informed both parties to save confusion - and was that your mate I saw with the new car shouting ‘Loads a money’
