Well, these things have a habit of fizzling to nothing if you let them, so I thought I would post my message I sent to Lennardigital this evening to keep the fires burning (as it were):

I was wondering if there had been any developments in regards a discounted price for Sonic Academy users who would like to buy Sylenth. If you take a look at the forum thread here, you will see this has been an extremely popular idea, and there are a great many members who are waiting to hear any news on this (myself included of course!)
If this would not be possible through Sonic Academy directly, might there be another way forum members could form their own ‘group buy’? If so, how might we go about this?
I and the many others in the forum look forward to your response with great anticipation.

Good on you Ged! I was beginning to wonder what was the outcome of this group discount. I was under the assumption Lennar was speaking to the powers that be at S.A. about making this happen. I appreciate it could take some time but an update would be nice.
I hope something eventually comes out of this…preferably sooner…than later !!!
No problem - I’m hoping that if the makers of Sylenth see there is a genuine demand for their synth specifically from Sonic Academy users, both S.A. and Lennerdigital should be able to negotiate something together. It makes good business sense anyway - there is obviously a demand and hopefully they will recognise this.
If not, of course, I’m hoping there might still be the option of a private group buy (details of which of course I would post up here if I heard anything). But it seems to me like Sonic Academy itself would benefit from this kind of a deal. Wouldn’t it be an incentive to join S.A. if you knew your subscription fee included discounted software? And likewise, the tutorials are a perfect platform from which to promote it!
Do you know what? I should have a career in marketing… 
its a no lose situation as far as i can see SA would get more subscribers and sylenth would shift more units plus get advertised a lot with it being in almost every video.
surly now more than anytime the plug-in creators are feeling the pinch as well
I agree completely - fingers crossed they are able to come to some sort of an agreement.
i have been waiting on an email from lennard about a deal… just waiting on confirmation then ill start taking names.

I just email the customer support email address provided on the Lennardigital website (support@lennardigital.com), and it was Lennard who emailed me back directly with the responce I posted last week. Definitely email - I agree completely that the more demand the company sees the more likely (and quickly) something will happen.
On another note, I tried to vote for you Roben on the DJ competition, but it asked me for a Facebook user ID and password, which I don’t have (I tried Facebook and very quickly got incredibly irritated by it!). Is there another way I could register my vote for you?

Wickedged thanks for trying to vote mate! The thing is that you do actually need a facebook account to be able to vote as it’s done through one of their facebook applications, i think it’s to help stop people voting with various different email addresses lol.

Yes - I know I should really. I’ve got a myspace page, but when I opened a facebook account, I kept getting all these bloody emails saying people were snowballing me or writing on my wall or other such hilarities. I know I’m a grumpy sod, but I closed it down double quick. People have since told me you can switch these things off, but frankly I’d rather be doing something more interesting.

Well, I’m afraid I’ve still not heard anything from Lennardigital regarding this. The last email (which I posted up on here) was nearly a week ago now. Phil mentioned he was also waiting for a reply from them - is there any update on this, Phil?

Hi guys, just to let you know I received an email from Lennard regarding Sylenth as I too took it on myself to drop a line of interest regarding the group buy.
The details are being worked out and we should know shortly.
Think patience is the key here, after all, somethings are genuinely worth waiting for!!
