that would be great to give an insight of that ! i always use a bit of global shuffle in my tunes, i never see that u do so in your tutorials. i am wondering why your tracks doesnt sound robotic or too straight.
i found out that loads of the minimal tracks must use a high percentage of the swing setting in ableton …
can u show how tu use that for great effect especially on basslines, hihats, percs ??
would love to see an prof. approach on that ! plz phil or bry or graham !!
anyone agree with that wish for a tech tip ??
cheers
robi
PS: have seen d.ramirez, funkagenda using the 50% swing setting in guru and put that groove to all their parts in logic !
i think thats also the missing thing on most of the “beginners” tracks that they are lacking GROOVE !
Yes i would love to see a tech tip video on swing/shuffle with some examples and a explanation as i would love to add some variation to the groove in my tracks, how about it guys and great idea from the man who posted!
count me in as well ! I have sometimes tried to use the swing mode in Cubase but not really often , this might at last solve my problem of mixes being too “robotic”
I’m in on this too. I have the idea and theory behind the groove down, but when you start getting into applying templates I’m absolutely lost on how to correctly do so.
If not using the quantise options, what is a good way of creating a nice swing/shuffle feel that I do is take the ‘snap to grid’ option off and then highlight across the parts i want to give more shuffle too in the arrangement page then move them a little to the right or left till I’m happy with the sound i’m getting.
i have guru so i could upload some wav files of maybe just hi hats on ever 16 or 32 nd with the 50 % groove applied and you can extract the groove from those loops and apply to your tracks if thats any help
hey these are just two audio clips of hi hat patterns very simple with the 50 % swing that funkagenda (spelling:D) uses in his video, and that minimal house kinda groove thing going on.
all you need to do it fire it into live andextract the groove and apply to all parts that require.
don’t apply it to your kick (lol) kick needs to be locked solid to the grid if you want your music to be playable to a dj
