the only thing that puts me off is that i use the groove templates in ableton a lot and I have been told the maschine doesnt really have that good of swing … im thinking that it would be weird for my synths etc. to have one groove (do this about halfthe time) and the drums another
what are your experiences of this?
Hmm interesting - I would like to know this too before I sell my son’s kidney for one
dunno about the grooves but it is tempting
the only work around i can see is exporting the midi data, but then i might as well just get a cheaper midi controller!
Hi ctdf -
In Maschine you can play use the controller as a self contained plugin, or you can set pads to MIDI-out. This way you can control sounds and Drum Racks in Ableton, thereby making use of Ableton’s groove patterns.
The other thing about Maschine is that updates are constantly being developed that add a whole host of functionality with each iteration. I’d be very surprised if NI didn’t add their own groove mechanics before long, especially now that Kore has been discontinued to put Maschine at the centre of NI’s product releases.
Hope that helps!
Bought one
Jealous…
If I had more room, there’d be one on my desk

Put it this way - i have not even looked at the manual and only had time to play for an hour or so (due to project deadlines) and already i have a good drum rhythm which i could easyly use
The work flow design is outstanding - which from an old cynic like me is probaly saying something
I’d be interested to see how it’s helped people with their productions as i’m also tempted to get one!
