brand new apc 40 shipped today. $299.99 plus shipping.
had a hell of a time finding 1. they are sold out like world-wide with no new ones till next year.
i’m almost too excited. it just went from 6 to midnight.
Nice one!
It’s weird how they’re always so sold out, you’d think they’d increase manufacture to keep up with demand?

yah its been driving me nuts. all the big companies keep pushing back their in-stock date.
i thought for sure that it would have been by christmas, but no-dice. from some of the websites I have checked out it looks like they are not restocking until like late Jan/Feb.
Actually its a manufacturing tactic to keep prices up and keep the 2nd hand market artifically high
Those god damn capitalists - grrrrr…
Nice one though hope you get it in time for xmas

yah they said it will be here like tuesday so I’m looking forward to my long holiday of crankin out tunes.
What’s more annoying is that you paid less in Dollars then they cost in Pounds.
Always bugged me how that works.

Well it just means that the dollar has devalued so much over the years - just waiting for the euro too crash and take a hike to europe and get some tax free goodies
i’m sure that you guys are not clueless to the fact that almost everything is cheaper in the states then it is abroad.
299.99 is the lowest American price for an apc40. musiciansfriend, sweetwater.com they all charge that price. i just lucked out with some dude on ebay selling it for same price.
obviously not EVERYTHING is cheaper. im sure you could find something. But I know for that just about everything computers/music/software is all cheaper in the USA then UK or Ireland.
I remember when I booked John O’Callahan in Philly he had us take him to the computer store so he could buy some gear and get it shipped for cheap, instead of buying it at home.
Yeah that’s exactly my point. It’s always been like that and for no discernible reason either.
These are things made by global corporations etc, more often than not not even American either, so it’s not like a home advantage thing.
When my folks lived in the states I use go with an empty suitacase and buy s**t loads of jeans and stuff to sell on to mates
It’s so weird isn’t it, all the parts cost the manufacturer the same, so why change the cost depending on what country it’s sold in?! Understandable if it’s made in the same country for it to be cheaper due to added overseas importing costs, but like you said James, if it’s not the case - which most of the time it isn’t -it just makes no sense what so ever.
Damn though, everything in the uk is just so damn expensive, costs you around £2million for a small sh*tty 1 bedroom flat in Soho where as in the states/canada, what’s that?.. just under $4million dollers? That would get you a massive house with swimming pool and all the trimmings! ?
Isn’t tax cheaper too? (I could be wrong here)
I can understand why a couple of people on this forum decided to up and move countries lol
Things usually have two prices, US price, and then The european price. A playstation will cost the same in a poor european country as a rich one.
It’s mad messed up.
Manufacturing countries workers can’t afford to eat or house themselves let alone buy the products they make - therefore they get exported to countries that have access to credit then they they borrow the money to buy the items which we can’t really afford - then the banks collapse and we buy the banks out so the whole process repeats itself
The beauty of a free market ladies and gentleman
If there is anything out there looking at us they would thinkwe are truly mad
I gave up on these - I waited for 2 months and thought I’d just spend the money on something else and got a refund
The strippers were very happy about that
Add to that your latest increase for tuition to college. That would send me to riot too.
I go to Drexel for electronic engineering and it only runs $25,000 a year.
Even better, since I have made the top 10% of my class I am going for free now due to scholarships.
Really though everything is relative. Your cost is higher, but your pay is also higher as well.
