Thanks

Just want to say thanks to Sonic Academy and everyone whos helped me out on the forums. I now have a label thats going to release one of my tracks! And it really was the sonic tutorials that got me going. Thanks again

Nice one Mate… Congrats!! That is really cool.

Have you got a Myspace or Soundcloud A/c?

What style of Music are you making? Would it be possible to hear a little bit?

Way to go, Spin!

Congratulations - you must be over the moon! I’m really happy for you. How did you get noticed? Any tips you could pass on?

yeah… I’m very curious to find out how you got connected with the label?

Thanks guys.

It was very easy to get in touch with the label. Basically all i did was take a look on dj download and on each track it tells you the label they are on so that gave me a good list of labels to try. Then all i did was search for the labels website and on a lot of them there is either a contact on who to send the demo to or they ask you to send a link to your track. I tried my first track with a couple of labels and got no response. Then i tried my second track a few weeks later and one of them responded and wanted to release it. They are sending a contract out and we’ll go from there.

Dude you can’t post a post saying I got signed and then not show us your music. So, come on, show the music man. I’ve been wanting to hear it since you’ve posted this post. Congrats to. thanks for the idea of looking on dj download or whatever it was.

Hey Hey Hey…Be nice brotha!

But I do agree. I want to hear the goods too!

take into consideration guys that some record labels won’t let you upload your tracks to facebook, myspace, soundcloud until after the track has gone on sale.

I wasn’t trying to sound like an ***, but just be sarcastic, perhaps a little funny. I suck at that though I guess.

He could still post something he has. A small piece of the work will do. I’m not buying your song for sure if you don’t post it up here with in an hour.

This really is killing me though, I would really like to hear what he has going on. I’ve been downloading the project files and sending them to record companies trying to get signed. If it works I’ll give phil and bryan ten percent of my sales.

I hope that the last part of that is a joke! They intentionally don’t make bangers out of the tutorials for this very reason! If you are actually sending that stuff out, be weary, the labels will eventually find out when someone tells them, “that sounds just like the fidget tutorial on SA.” You should pretty much stop doing that immediately unless you want to ruin any real chance at being signed some day. The stuff might not be Copyrighted, but it’s not yours if ya catch my drift. I would also recommend not sending anything to a label until you have played it out SEVERAL times with good reaction. I can tell you with certainty that NO PRODUCER has ever put anything out without a test run first. There’s tons of things that sound great in the studio, but sound shiza in the club! Don’t take the chance of ruining a good name for yourself by doing something foolish. It’s kind of the golden rule!

Raymond

Hey look guys thanks for the interest but im not sure where i stand with it at the moment so i dont want to put anything online. I’ll know more when i’ve got the contract. Then i’ll set up a myspace page or something and you can have a listen then. Its all new to me so i just want to see what happens. I just wanted to thank SA and everyone on the forums that have helped me and share my good news.

No dude it all good. I’m getting the ravey breaks signed by bombsquad records and the fidget tutorial signed by crux ed bangers. I’m going to be a super star. Don’t try to ruin it for me dude.

wtf?!

I’m f*cking speachless… OMFG!

Raymond

It’s gotta be a joke lol

it’s a joke. I couldn’t pass it up after ray wrote that long lecture about how that is wrong.

Sam, Ima slap you!!!

Believe it or not, this has actually happened. Hence my lengthy DON"T DO IT! Are you the Navajo or Abrakadabra (sp)? I think I know  by your responses!

Raymond

We’re both. We get on here at the same time. We’re pretty much joined at the hip. I just couldn’t believe you would think we’re stupid enough to do that, but I understand. The internet has some stupid people on it.

that’s such great news. I can honestly say I am truly happy for you.

This is also a very thoughtful thread you made. actually I should say it’s very thoughtful of you to thank sonic academy.
