The best place to get feedback on your productions?

Hey guys I was just wondering what you guys do when you finish a track to get some feedback. My friends on say my msn list aren’t really into EDM so I don’t really like sending them stuff cos the usuall response is sounds good… Also sending it to big name DjS is ok but their very busy and can take ages getting back to you I even recall a big name Dj supporting my track and not even letting me know he liked it etc. So was just wondering if you guys know of any good places to get your stuff listened to by people with som knowledge on good dance music. Also what’s the best way to get samples of your tracks online, I always just used myspace. All help appreciated

Hmm, you could put it up on soundcloud. Sure folks here would love the opportunity to listen and give constructive feedback! Post a link on the Tunes - Mixes - Podcasts section.

ideally the dancefloor, if that is absent try youTube, this forums ‘productions’ section and probably the best of them all sound cloud.

ignore big names for now and send it to the dj’s that don’t normally get 1000s of promo a week, like myself for example

btw soundcloud is my favourite for hosting files too

That plus there are other forums out there some friendly and most not - but its alwys good to get some sort of feedback

I even post on non music forums as well

I normaly put a sample up on soundcloud then go to the feedback forum on banging tunes, as I always need help with my mixdowns so with the feedback I get I can normaly sort that out before sending off to labels and getting it signed!

Only work of mine that I send to DJ’s are the tracks I put out on Digital ST8 and I am lucky that I get support from the likes Ben Stevens, Nik Denton, James Nardi, Ross Homson to name afew of the bigger names in hard house at the moment!

I would get them other producer friends that wont beat around the bush. There is nothing worse then your friends telling you that they like your work and they are just being nice. I dont want people to tell me what they like about it…I want people to tell me whats WRONG with it. Im a big boy, I can handle it. Ultimately I want to get better, not have my ego stroked.

But soundcloud can be a bunch of bush beaters too. Just gotta know the right people to take advice from.

If they say to me, “sounds great dude!”, or “I like the sound, and I really like how…”, im like thanks man…im glad you like it…but whats wrong with it so I can fix it?
