I think this is rumour reported as fact. It says that “Panny made the announcement…” but there is no link to the source and there is nothing like this on the Panasonic site:

It might be that Gizmodo is ahead of the curve on this one but I think this is just more rumour and speculation like we have been hearing, as Roben said, for the last 2 years.
