The missus ruining your workflow

Why is it, every time i’m right in the middle of massive creative streaks the missus always has to come pester me with problems or chores, royally annoys me.

Thought the fact that the studio door is closed and im in the middle of working on music would be hint enough that i’m busy.

Women!!

THIS

feel u on that bro . i wish i would still be single sometimes hehe

tell me about it mate, does my bloody head in! steam comes out my ears and everything!

Dun get me started! … what really p!sses me off is when she says! “you off upstairs to play on your computer?” …Aaarrgggghhh!!! :w00t:

Today I had planned to spend it all stuck in the studio working, then she comes barging in telling me i’ve got to help her friend move house.

I mean i don’t mind helping people out, but why does it have to be in the small times i get a chance to actually get on with some work.

Anyways 3 hours later i completely lost where I was at or what i’d lined up in my head what i was going to do / tweek / make / my groove.

Finally got back into it now.

Like last night, I was working on music and decided to have a 10 min break just to refresh my ears, my girlfs laptop has been playing up for a while and she hasn’t been able to load facebook well, so she went on my comp and half hour later she was still on it, i asked her to hurry up, gave her an hour then i asked for my computer back so i can carry on with work and she stressed the f*ck out at me and gave me so much grief, decided to storm off in a huff and tell me i can make my own dinner.

She proceeded to not talk to me for the next couple of hours. I don’t know why she couldnt just use her brothers Mac which wasn’t even being used?!!?

I honestly don’t know how anyone can spend so much time on facebook, she said she was chatting to her friend… isn’t that what phones are for?? It was obvious i was busy working, it’s not like i get the chance to do it during the day when im studying or tutoring.

I just need to get some kinda income from my music or at least lots of gigs, before she takes me and my music seriously i think. It’s so frustrating.

I love her to bits, but i don’t think she quite ‘gets it’. Surely what I do is better than one of those guys who slobs infront of the telly all evening, every evening.

big +1 Rob

+1

be patient Roben . maybe talk to her and tell her that u want it to make it a carrier of Music. hopefully she understand and respect your wishes and time . most wifes or girlfriend gets upset because they have the misconception that Music is like a hobbie. . so yeahh use that pimp hand Roben . tell her how it is heheheh

Women are gay!

deep reply  mussi hahahahahahahahaha:D

Women are dream squashers! They are here to put down and belittle what men do because they don’t understand it! All they care about is being married and having babies whilst wearing pointlessly expensive clothes! It’s not their fault it’s in their DNA.

Roben I think her problem, like all our bird’s problems is they want to spend all their time with us. Using your computer for so long was just her of disrupting your “hobby” that keeps you away from her!

I’ve had loads of fights about it with my missus. I’m afraid it’s gonna be a continous battle!!:w00t:

You’ve saved me writing that Mate. Well said.

We had words about it a while back too - often do/did.

Not anymore. I told her that she makes me feel uncomfortable when shes in with the dagger eyes & the frosty reception. I said that it was never going to change. She needed to get over it. Did she want me to go down the Pub every night of the week instead? You choose.

I asked if she realised how rude & agressive she was coming over? She said she didnt & was sorry - and to be fair - it hasnt happened since.

I think they get into the mindframe of including you in their daily routine. Not just in a loving way - but a ****ing scheduled timetable way.

Its not that a problem is 1/2’d - like you help them to do some stuff - but they think that they can get DOUBLE the amount of objectives accomplished.

Put your foot down lads. Its a conversation that needs to be had every couple of months to re-establish the boundaries, cos they forget. You also need to start being more assertive & say things well in advance like - I’m doing nothing next XXX, so I’m going to do A,B & C  - ok. Then on the day itself, when they want you to bang your head off the wall with them, you can say… “Aaaah - sorry, cant you rememeber what I said…”.

Be smarter than them. They like to organise. The only way to defeat them is to use their own weapon against them.

Doesnt hurt either to talk about your common friends & say… “Can you believe XX’s girlfriend is telling him to do that - if that was you, I’d tell you to fck off.”

That technique sets precedents without having a full on row! Haha!

If they go quiet for a second then agree, you’ve hit home. You can then remind them that they’re being a cnut the next time they’re a hyppocrite  :)

Also - Say NO to things at random intervals. Not every time, but every now & then just so that they realise they have to consider that you might not do something.

NO is my favorite word

Unfortunatly it was ex’s as well :frowning:

No= means a forceful yes

All I’m saying is look what the creator of facebook achieved directly after splitting up with his missus, once he no longer had the constant female drain of time and money! :stuck_out_tongue:

So whats the concensus? Do we like Women?

I think I’d rather pay women for sex and have more free time to make music :w00t:

Might be expensive! There has to be another way… LOL

It all depends on where you go to get it :hehe:
