While Kev was at NAMM last month Korg debuted their new Sound on Sound Unlimited Track Recorder. It's now been announced that this will be released in April 2010 with a price tag of approximately £200 (or $400).
So what is all the hype about?
The Korg SOS recorder is a totally portable and self contained, touch screen, multitrack recorder. It has tonnes of built in effects and rhythms, and even guitar, bass and chromatic tuners are included. With MicroSD storage providing up to 1,600 minutes recording space and unlimited number of overdubs, it will allow you to create anything you want, from sketches to complete tracks, wherever you are.
All tracks are BWF compliant, meaning they’ll import and lineup correctly with your editing software, to allow you to add that extra layer of polish. It allows CD quality recording, either through the built in microphone or via audio jack.
This new recorder should bring a whole new flexibility to music creation. More details are available on the official Korg site here. Want to know what the others think? Add your thoughts to a new thread on our forum.
