The New Mac Books

For music production, the “normal” macbook pro is probably a better choice - more powerful cpu

[quote]Rob… (12/06/2012)[hr]What do you sound headz think bout the new Apple Mac Books??

Im getting a MacBook Pro 15-inch with Retina display

2.7GHz Quad-core Intel Core i7, Turbo Boost up to 3.7GHz

16GB 1600MHz DDR3L SDRAM

768GB Flash Storage

Apple USB SuperDrive

And I will prob wait a month or 2 for mountain lion installed and to save a bit of money for accessories.

what i want to know is where de heel did the 17 inch go??

I thought the new macbook was built for performance, so how could it have a worse cpu than the old standard Macbook?

In what way is the cpu worse?

The retina display model is much thinner than the original macbook pro, so it could be related to heat dissipation I suppose.

In any case, the original version can be ordered with a higher spec cpu…

The new 22nm ivy bridge processors are faster than the older sandy bridge at the same clock speeds.

What Ant says.

I need to buy Logic, cant wait to see what all the fuss is about…

read the first reply in this topic some dude saying u need to buy the old Macbook because it has a better CPU than the new 1…

Seems to be some misunderstanding going on… I’m not talking about the older versions of the macbook pro.

When the retina display version was introduced, the standard models were upgraded as well, so they all have the latest model cpu’s.

This is worth reading before you make a purchase:
