The thing is (and i know this because i work in the industry and have done for a long time) that if you make your way up from the underground to the mainstream club world and people like what you do you will be ‘protected’. People such as Steve Angello and the like have created a sound that is massive in the states right now and no matter how much you moan it’s not going to change anything, they will still get the work (until something new comes along that the public want).
Whereas in the past it was Hip Hop/RnB, Country & Western and Rock, now House is up there too in the popularity stakes. Large labels are commissioning remixes from house producers and the hip hop artists who have seen a drop in popularity of ‘their’ genre are jumping ship. As a result black music is becoming more ‘white’ and black people are becoming more accepted by white people - which surely is only a good thing?
You might not like the productions that are popular now; these ‘stadium house’ epics with comedy sawtooths and drops, but they are creating opportunities for people like you in the future. If you work hard and rise up the ranks you too could be in a privileged place and be ‘protected’ like they are.
If you ask me what protection is - it’s a metaphor… it’s the A&R guys who like what you do, the team of people they work with, the radio pluggers, the online social media experts, the youtube experts, the club DJs on the promo list… it goes on… many people who are buying into the product because of the mechanism that exists, has adapted and is still working. There are many ‘dumb’ people out there who like what they are told to like - free thinkers it seems are in the minority.
It’s great being true to your sound, being underground, but it’s not going to make you any money if that’s what you want. House music is pop now and you know the funny thing? things are always shifting and the next pop might be yesterday’s underground.
The question is ICN, are you ready to take Techno to the masses?
Billboard number 1 - ICN featuring Dolly Parton “From Detroit to Memphis (let’s line dance)”
ICN is super Underground, i don’t think he would sell his bitch *** to Commercial Music
Don’t care
What thing?
ICN (27/08/2011)
What thing?
This - The Thing (1982) - IMDb ?
John Carpenter at his best.
I prefer this one… It’s always better if it feels like someone elses hand
I think I’ve just witnessed a miracle… Dom/LDF actually posting something that made sense. I need a lie down now.

Used to be underground house producer (releasing records - remember those) and a&r for several labels but times changed. Now in house music producer for a TV channel (lovely PRS from that) and occasional underground house producer (rubbish PRS from that). I also consult on a freelance basis in the use of social media for music promotion.
Dom no offense but I think your full of ****. I dont think ive ever met ANY producer no matter how old who didnt know what a supersaw was/how to make one or someone who doesnt know jack about samples. Also most producers have lives, they dont sit on a forum trying to make real deep bonds with people, they also certainly dont post 20 times on a forum and act like they know everything about saod forum and its past and present members.
I dont get you, I dont get your rambling on and I certainly dont get all your meaningless posts and random forum member worship and *** licking.
But tbh there are only two words you need to learn from me as a pre response to anything you ever have to say wether its to me personally or just more of your random forum spam.
DONT CARE.
Jan Mate,
He’s got a great sense of humour - A fkn blind moron can see that, and he’s playing you like a fiddle. We’re all having loads of banter here if you aint noticed & no-one on either side is taking anything seriously.

He obviously knows his left from his right Jan - hes having fun Mate. Dont take it so seriouse
