Hi Bob, hope you’re well? Just had a listen to your latest installment and it’s sounding interesting :Pbr
It’s got a space-age, 70’s sounding feel to it and the production side of it is defo improving. What I would say is that the hats are sounding a little too high and you might wanna think about putting some reverb or a slight delay on them as when you are missing them out it’s sounding a little too abrupt and a bit disjointed.br
br
Great sounding breakdown and you definitely have your own style. I really like the “Millistrated” one that you’ve done. Do you play your own chords or are they programmed?
Cool track dude reminds me of some old school rpg final battle music, like the other guy mentioned your hats were a bit loud so maybe check your mix but good work none the less.
yes, reminds me of something in the back of a side scroller game.br
br
The hats also stand out for me at this side, - perhaps lower them overall in the mix as a starting point.br
Thanks guys for the feedback, I appreciate it. Lessons learned: this is pretty much like anything else in life… you gotta work at it, and it takes time. R/L is hectic again but I’ll try to get the hats adjusted soon. (also, the high end is probably my biggest challenge as I have tinnitus combined with some hi end freq loss… so, good monitors, good headphones, and good spectrum analyzer all have to work together.) br

@en1gma: at this stage, all my songs start off on the keyboards. Once I have something I like, I play it through, capturing to MIDI, then do some tweaks to make up for my clumsy fingers
