This effect

Ok i know how to do this using Glitch but I want to be able to do it using Abletons own plug ins, does anyone know if there is a way to make that effect where it sounds like you’ve turned off your vinyl deck and the sound slows to a stop.

Have you got Max for Live? There are a few patches built specifically for this purpose. One is called Tapestop which I’ve linked below…

just draw in a quick curve on the track bpm

or what would make it a little more fluid is assign it to a midi knob and record it.

that should give you something along the lines of what ya wanna do…

there is prob a better way of doin it…

i used it once on a remix of hip-hop tune i was attempting to slow the bpm from 130 back down to the original 90 bpm of the original track, to play the chorus for a bit and back up again

Ah ok guys, i was actually hoping one of the built in plug in’s would have been able to do it, no matter :frowning:

Thanks

Cheers Howie, will check it out now

You can achieve this using beat repeat, Roben. Adjust the parameters like you do in Glitch, and you should be damn close. Actually, you can do about anything with beat repeat that you can in Glitch, you just don’t have the fancy piano roll.

I appreciate it bro. However, I don’t accept donations. I do it to help others out.

Link seems to be broken? :crying:

Try just putting: www.youtube.com/howiegroove into your address bar.

And Howie/anyone what screen recorder you use for that?

I tried using Cam Studio, but it seems pretty basic, want something that allows you to zoom in, highlight the pointer, Picture in Picture etc…

It’s not broken, if you look at the address bar just delete out the ‘http://forums.sonicacademy.com’ which appears before the actual youtube/howiegroove URL, then hit enter.

Yep, Screenflow. I would like to do more tutorials, but I’m lazy. Sorry.

I was actually thinking of doing all of Jon Margolis’s Live tips in video form.

That would be sweet.

i think there is a free plugin called tapestop which does this kinda thing

Thanks guys got it now
