Time Strecth\Warp in ableton 7

Can anyone give me some guidance on how to do this without it sounding crap? lol. i’m trying to warp a short vocal sample to 173bpm and it’s just not sounding right.

or better still does anyone know any good plugins you can use? i’ve heard of the mixmeister bpm analyser and timefactory plugin combo but the timefactory developers stopped making it last year and any versions don’t support vista - it’s just for Mac now!

thanks in advance!

Actually the Melodyne plugin comes to mind, maybe i should give that a try?

warp it in what way? speed it up down what

what do you actually want the vocal to do? make retain the same key? or re-pitch like on turntable, or the fatboy slims tyle timstretch effect?

i guess it’s to suit the tempo of the song. so for example say the original vocal was recorded at 125bpm i need it to fit 173bpm but not raise the pitch if that makes any sense? kinda hard to explain on here!

well that’s quite a drastic change of audio tempo.

If you don’t want chipmunk vocals then you could use complex pro but ti’s doubtful you’ll get a perfect pitch lock.

Melodyne might do it, sped it up repitch it down. - or you want something like seratos pitch n’ time.
